Southern Baptists of Texas Disaster Relief Report August 27, 2012

Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
Know that the Lord, He is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
For the Lord is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
Oklahoma Wildfires
Southern Baptists of Texas Disaster relief volunteers are completing the response to the Oklahoma Wildfires this week. We plan to be completed by September 01, 2012.
Please allow me to express my appreciation to all of you have responded to the needs in the Oklahoma Wildfires. Many of you have responded in cleanup and recovery, operations/assessments, ICS and chaplaincy. Several of you have spent numerous hours coordinating the teams as off/site coordinators.
Thank you, all!! Many lives have been affected as you shared the HOPE of our Lord Jesus in your ministry.
Hurricane Isaac
At this time, Hurricane Isaac is headed generally toward the Louisiana Gulf Coast. Southern Baptists of Texas Disaster Relief is on standby to respond to the needs created by the impact of Hurricane Isaac. All ministry areas are on standby to respond as needed.
Directions to the “coconut farm” fish fry.
As you come into Kountze there is a main intersection at Brookshires Grocery. Turn left onto Hwy 326. Go until you see the ‘livestock show barn’. Turn left at the tiny road there and follow it on down until you see a gate, inter and you will soon see the other cars.
I’m not sure how far you go down 326. Its approximately 3 miles. You will pass the court house and on down you will pass the little leage fields (on the right)…when you get to the Y that goes to Sour Lake, there is a tiny road on the left. We will try to have a sign there for everyone to see. Turn immediately onto that tiny road to the left and go down that long road and you’re there.
